SSS WASHI CHALLENGE

I guess I'm one of those "not really with it" people that hasn't quite gotten caught up in the washi craze. HOWEVER, I have started collecting washi through various washi shares. When I saw Simon Says Stamp!'s new challenge, I figured that was like a 2"x4" whacking me in the head saying, "Use your washi!!!". So....I've decided to make 2 cards - one for a gal, and one for a guy. Ladies first:
I'm really not a "pink" person, and pink is one of the LAST colors I'll dig out of my paper/ink stash. But, there are some very special people in my life who LOVE pink!!! Here's how I made the card:

I placed washi tape at a diagonal over a scrap piece of white cardstock and folded the ends over the back. I dry embossed a 4.5"x6.5" piece of pink cardstock and added little white dots as accents and glued it to my 5x7" white cardstock base. I adhered my washi piece over my pink cardstock, keeping it to the right side of my card so that I didn't hide the embossing. The banner strip was made by laying the washi over an other paper scrap and adhered to the card. The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and cut with a circle punch. This was adhered to the card with foam dots. Then, I added just a few adhesive pearls for the finishing touch.

Here's my supplies:
