SSS BLACK&WHITE w/a SPLASH OF COLOR! #1

This card was made for Simon Says Stamp's current challenge to make a card primarily black and white, with a splash of color. I've always been drawn to black, white and red....so here's what I came up with for my first card:
I'm not much of a "frilly" person, so the square doily was a bit of a stretch for me, but I thought it added a nice touch to the card.

Here's how I did it:
I inked my stamp with black ink and stamped onto white cardstock. The flowers and leaves were colored with copic markers. The sentiment stamps was inked with Versamark and heat embossed with black embossing powder. The stamped image was adhered to a piece of black cardstock to create a frame. This was then adhered to my red cardstock base (which I had already adhered the square doily to) with foam tape. Finally, just a few red flat back pearls were added for embellishment.

And, here's my supplies:

Thanks for stopping by!!

  1. This is stunning! So crisp and vivid! And I think the punched border is a great touch. :) Thanks for participating in our "Black & White + Splash of Color" challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog this week! xx
