Silhouette Butterfly Card

I've been playing around with my Silhouette Cameo lately...trying to figure out how the thing works and exactly what I can do with it! Anyway, I found this butterfly die in their online store, purchased it and decided to make a 5x7" (approximately) card out of it. I LOVE the way it turned out! Here it is:
Here's how I did it:
First, I re-sized the image to approximately 5X7". I cut the detailed portion of the butterfly out of black cardstock. Then, I cut 2 copies of the outline only of the butterfly out of white cardstock. I adhered the black outline die cut to one piece of the white cardstock shape for the front of the card. This was a very delicate procedure ;D! Then I colored the butterfly with Copic markers.

I scored the back piece of the card (white cardstock butterfly) approximately 1" from the top of the wings. This way, I had a nice fold for the card to open, as well as my "glue area" to adhere the front of the card to the back. This also allowed the card to stand up nicely.

For the sentiment, I cut a 1" strip of vellum. I inked my sentiment stamp with Versamark, then heat embossed it with a deep purple embossing powder. (You can't tell in the photo, but it looks really cool in real life!). The vellum strip was then trimmed and the corners rounded. I glued the sentiment to the front of the card using "dots" of Glossy accents, which I covered with the purple gems.

Here's most of the supplies I used:
