ELLEN HUTSON LLC HERO ARTS CLEAR TAKE 'N MAKE

I made this card for Ellen Hutson LLC's "Take 'n Make" challenge as part of the debut of the Hero Arts 2012 stamp release.  Unfortunately, I don't have any of the new HA 2012 clear stamps......yet!  But, graciously, Ellen Hutson is allowing us to use any HA clear stamp.  I've actually had this floral stamp set for a while, but have never used it, so I was more than happy to dig it out!

Sorry the clear stamp sets don't show up very well :(

Here's how I did it:
The floral stamp was inked with various shades of Color Box Chalk Ink with a sponge dauber.  It was then stamped on white cardstock.  I immediately stamped it a second time on another piece of cardstock to get the "shadow" image of the flower. The brighter image was then partially cut out to adhere over the "shadow" image with 3-D adhesive dots - offsetting the images a bit. These images were then adhered to the green background paper, then onto the card.  Ribbon and Liquid Pearl embellishments were then added.  The sentiment was stamped with black ink and also adhered to the card with 3-D dots.

Thanks so much for looking!!!

ELLEN HUTSON LLC HERO ARTS CLING TAKE AND MAKE - CARD #2

Here's my second card: "Journey in Time"

And here's how I did this one:

The Hero Arts "Watch Gears" stamp was inked with StampinUp Chocolate Chip ink and stamped onto patterned paper. Unfortunately, this double-sided patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket has been discontinued :(   The edges were distressed with Tim Holtz Paper Distresser and lightly inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The sentiment was then stamped the same way.  I curled some of the edges on both stamped images to reveal a little portion of the reverse side of the paper.  The card was then "embellished" with paper from the same collection.

ELLEN HUTSON LLC HERO ARTS CLING TAKE AND MAKE - CARD #1

I just received a couple of my NEW 2012 Hero Arts stamps and have been so excited to create with them!!

This card "Enjoy Today" is a VERY quick and simple card!

Here's how I did it:
I used each of the 3 stamps in the Hero Arts "Flying Airship" stamp set.  I covered the words on 2 of the stamps with painters tape, then inked the stamps with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The tape was then removed, and the images were stamped on paper from the Basic Grey "Oxford" collection. Each stamped image was trimmed, then adhered to another piece of paper from the same collection.  The "formula" paper on the bottom of the card is also from the same paper collection.  Added a little bit of ribbon, and voila!  The card is done!!

NATIVITY CHARM CARD

To me, Christmas is all about the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm always looking for stamps that reflect that - especially stamps that include a Nativity scene.  A card, by Franziska, was posted on the Flickr Hero Arts Group site that used the Hero Arts Village stamp and incorporated the nativity scene.  To me, it perfectly illustrated the scenario in the town of Bethlehem when Christ was to be born.

The background of the card was made with Alcohol Inks stamped on glossy photo paper, then cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  The village background was made by stamping Hero Arts Village stamp onto kraft cardstock and heat embossing it with white embossing powder.  I stamped the nativity scene onto a remnant of the alcohol-inked background and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I then adhered this to the underside of the acrylic charm with Glossy Accents.  The star was cut of the same alcohol-inked paper as well.

CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS

I just can't seem to get enough out of the background stamp used on this card.  The Hero Arts Florentine Pattern stamp creates absolutely GORGEOUS backgrounds!  I inked the stamp with distress inks, then spritzed with Perfect Pearls. The angel stamp was inked with the same colors and again misted with Perfect Pearls. The brown background was made by swiping Walnut Stain Distress Stain on white cardstock.  The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The "pearls" were made using Adirondack Dimensional Pearls in Espresso. (Not all are perfectly shaped pearls, but I was pleased with the way the card turned out anyway! ;D)

INKADINKADO MINDSCAPE NATIVITY

This is one of my all-time favorite Christmas stamps by InkadinkadoIt amazes me to see all the detail and pictures within the stamp!
The background of this card was created my sponging distress ink on white cardstock, then spritzing it with Perfect Pearls.  The stamp was then inked with the same colors and spritzed with Perfect Pearls before stamping. Then I added the gems for a finishing touch.

"WINDOW" NATIVITY CARD

I loved creating the "window" for the key point of the nativity scene on this card.  I don't normally use patterned paper, but I really liked the colors of this paper!

GRID CHRISTMAS CARD

I'm a little embarrassed to have been silent on my blog for so long!!  I've been really busy preparing for the holidays, which includes making a BUNCH of Christmas cards!  I wanted to share some of my favorite cards with you.  My descriptions may be brief, but I wanted to get them posted!!

This card was made using a variety of stamps to create the background grid.  I find myself really drawn to grid cards because you can use "scraps" of stamps to create beautiful cards!!
