World Card Making Day Card

October 1, 2011 was World Cardmaking Day.  I began this card on that day, but unfortunately, didn't finish it until today - October 2, 2011.  Nevertheless, it was created to celebrate WCMD 2011!

 Here's how I did it:

I cut the Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations "Townscape" in my Cuttlebug with watercolor paper.  I then "watercolored" the die cut with various Distress Inks.  (This was the first time I used this die cut, and I wasn't sure what colors to use, so I kind of copied the picture on the packaging of the die!) Each house was then distressed with Black Soot Distress Ink. Then, I lightly spritzed it with water so that the inks would blend. Once the ink was dry, I covered the die cut with Glossy Accents.  I love the way it gave it almost a metallic look.

I then cut my various strips/shapes out of patterned paper and assembled/adhered them onto a 5.5" square card.  The edge of the sun was distressed with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  The sentiment banner was distress with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, as was the outside borders of the card.  The sentiment banner and the Townscape die cut were adhered to the card with 3D foam dots.

Here's the supplies I used:
